FREE LEGAL AID CLINIC KENYA

From its inception, OFF LACK has been providing free legal services and representation to children and paupers in court.

OFF LACK is working on a book yet to be published by the name " LAW FOR THE LAYMAN" this book is a comprehensive one covering a large number of topics and it is an important contribution made by OFF LACK towards promotion of legal literacy. The treatment of the topics is simple and attractive and it has explained in simple non-technical language, the broad elements of law in regard to the various topics dealt by it. Since there is an extremely insignificant proportion of the population in this country who know English and, therefore, if the book is to serve its real purpose of promoting legal awareness amongst the people and particularly the children and weaker section of the community, it would be better if the book is translated into other Kenyan languages.

OFF LACK program help to sensitize the masses by educating and giving free legal service since ignorance of law is not an excuse in a court of law again if the  people learn and understand about their rights they can assert them and if they are not aware of them, they will be losing what is due to them. This book is targeted to benefit 15 - 20m Kenya 's children and adult citizens. In our bide to promote legal literacy we intend to establish 500 information booths countrywide at the grass root level i.e in Slums areas, Villages, High and Lower Courts in Kenya.
